When Alfred Hodt founded his company with the same name in 1913, he laid the foundations for a long-lasting success story that continues today. Despite having to start from scratch again and again due to two world wars, the company is now in its fourth generation and is one of the largest companies in the field of corrosion prevention. This has been largely achieved by the grandson of the company founder, Jürgen Wolf-Hodt, who decided to take over the family business in 1963 and transformed it with great dedication and ability. First, focusing on the traditional business - the import and export of fish oil, as well as animal and vegetable oils and fats, in 1975 he became the sole distributor of the FLUID FILM anti-corrosion agent in Europe, concluding an agreement with its manufacturer, the Eureka Chemical Company, based in San Francisco. The fourth generation is co-owner of both companies. The eldest son, Detlef Wulf-Hodt, has been at the helm of Korrosionsschutz GmbH for several years, and, following tradition, he works with full dedication and great success.

Hodt products are of the highest quality and cost-effective. For a long time, FLUID FILM has been the most widely tested and well-known soft, sheep's wool fat-based coating on the market. The environmentally friendly, solvent-free products are known thanks to the shipping and offshore industry. They have proven themselves by coating millions of square meters of ballast water tank surfaces on ships all over the world. In 2000, the company introduced another anti-corrosion product to the market under the name PERMA FILM. This high-quality, thick, single-component paint meets the requirements for the restoration and maintenance of the first coating of ballast water tanks, thus offering an economical and effective alternative to traditional painting systems. Our latest product, HODT MULTI FILM, impresses with its versatility. This solvent-free, hardening anti-corrosion agent is suitable for both primer and topcoat. Since it is transparent, it is even ideal for preserving the original patina. HODT MULTI FILM is based on a water-based hybrid system that hardens by oxidation and ensures the flexibility of the coating. Due to these properties, it is ideal for use in various fields, such as mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and the construction industry, as well as many others.
